Controls Engineer – Position Description
AeroFarms is a change-the-world vertical farming company revolutionizing agriculture in the heart of Newark, NJ.
The past 12 months have been an exciting time for us. Our team has grown five-fold during this period and we now need a special individual who’s looking to take the next step in their Controls Engineering career to join our cutting-edge Engineering team and take the lead for our controls strategy, components and programming.

Experience developing electrical designs based on customer requirements as well as researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials
A natural desire to research and analyze problem statements while creating and conducting experiments and brainstorm innovative solutions
Had experience developing complete electrical drawing designs using AutoCAD Electrical (or equivalent) schematics, interconnect diagrams; network diagrams, panel layouts and Bill of Materials
Experience specifying controls and sensors for light manufacturing
Experience setting up PLCs for equipment with 100-1000 elements
Experience programming HMI SCADA including setting up remote monitoring and alarms for 24 hour operations
A track record of meeting deadlines on budget and on time.
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
You may also have:
The ability to help us specify and size all materials such as enclosures, circuit protection, control components and associated auxiliary panel components
Experience with food safety standards and sanitary design best practices
Experience with developing electrical or control portions of equipment in liquid/chemical processing.
Your Engineering degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering
Experience with Wonderware (food industry SCADA platform)
Solidworks certification for electrical layout
A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
